Ingredients

  • 8 slices of bread (white or whole wheat)
  • 4 tablespoons of softened butter
  • Assorted fillings (cucumber, smoked salmon, chicken, egg salad, etc.)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Spread a thin layer of butter on each slice of bread.

  2. Layer your desired fillings on half of the bread slices.

  3. Season with salt and pepper.

  4. Top with the remaining slices of bread.

  5. Cut the sandwiches into desired shapes (triangles, squares, or rectangles).

  6. Serve immediately or cover with a damp kitchen towel until ready to serve.
