
How To Make Lamb & Spinach Spanakopita
Who says vegetarians don’t get to enjoy savory meals? A taste of these authentic vegetarian recipes will make you change your mind. So, you just might want to go vegetarian after your first bite.

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground lamb
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 8 oz fresh spinach, chopped
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
- salt and pepper to taste
- 12 sheets of phyllo pastry
- 1/2 cup melted butter
Instructions

In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until softened.

Add the ground lamb to the pan and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.

Stir in the chopped spinach and cook until wilted. Remove from heat and let cool.

In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked lamb and spinach mixture with the crumbled feta cheese, chopped dill, salt, and pepper.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Lay one sheet of phyllo pastry on a clean surface and brush with melted butter. Repeat this process with 5 more sheets, layering them on top of each other.

Spoon the lamb and spinach filling onto the layered phyllo pastry, leaving a border around the edges. Fold the edges over the filling.

Repeat steps 6 and 7 with the remaining phyllo pastry and filling.

Place the filled phyllo pastry onto a baking sheet and brush the top with melted butter.

Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until golden and crispy.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing.
