How To Make Israeli Couscous and Cheese

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Israeli couscous
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g. cheddar, mozzarella, or Gouda)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized pot, bring the vegetable broth to a boil. Add the Israeli couscous and cook according to package instructions until tender.

  2. In a separate pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent and the garlic is fragrant.

  3. Once the couscous is cooked, drain any excess liquid and add it to the pan with the onion and garlic mixture. Stir well to combine.

  4. Reduce the heat to low, then add the shredded cheese to the pan. Stir until the cheese is melted and coats the couscous evenly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  5. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley.

  6. Serve hot and enjoy!
