How To Make Berry Slump

Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 25 minutes
Total: 40 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups mixed berries (such as blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a 9-inch square baking dish, combine the mixed berries, 1/2 cup sugar, and lemon juice. Mix well to coat the berries evenly.

  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add the milk and melted butter, and stir until just combined.

  3. Drop spoonfuls of the batter on top of the berries, covering them as much as possible.

  4. Bake for 25 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the berries are bubbly.

  5. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
