How To Make Melon Liqueur (Midori Copycat)

Sweet and bright, this melon liqueur mixes ripe cantaloupe, vodka, and simple syrup for a fruity alcoholic drink that’s infused perfectly just like Midori.

Ingredients

  • 2cupsripe cantaloupe,(about ½ a melon) chopped, rind removed
  • cupsvodka
  • 1cupsugar
  • 1cupwater

Instructions

  1. Place chopped melon in a sealable glass jar, then add vodka. Seal and shake. Let mixture steep for 3 days at room temperature away from direct sunlight.

  2. Strain fruit out, pressing down to extract liquid. Then, filter the mixture through a coffee filter or through 2 layers of cheesecloth.

  3. Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan and heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved. Let syrup cool.

  4. Once the syrup is cool, combine it with the melon infusion. Seal in bottle or jar, then shake to mix. Let rest for a minimum of 1 day.

  5. Serve and enjoy.
