How To Make Smoked Gouda Grilled Cheese with Apples and Bacon

Take your sandwich experience to a whole new level with this smoked gouda grilled cheese made with crisp apples that contrast the delicious, salty bacon.

Ingredients

  • smoked gouda cheese,cut into small pieces, optional
  • 1apple,cored and very thinly sliced
  • 2slicesfavorite bread
  • 3stripsturkey,or regular bacon, cooked and cut in half
  • butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill pan or skillet over medium heat.

  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread. Arrange half of the cheese slices on the un-buttered side of one slice of bread.

  3. Layer on the bacon, sliced apples, and finally the other half of the cheese carefully on top. Top with the other slice of bread, and gently transfer to the skillet.

  4. Cook sandwich on both sides for about 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown and the cheese has begun to melt.
