  • 8 slices of white bread
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Dijon mustard for spreading

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Lay out 4 slices of bread and spread Dijon mustard on each slice.

  3. Top each slice with a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese.

  4. Place the remaining 4 slices of bread on top to make sandwiches.

  5. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.

  6. Carefully transfer the sandwiches to the skillet and cook until both sides are golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  7. Transfer the sandwiches to a baking sheet and place in the preheated oven for 5 minutes to melt the cheese.

  8. Meanwhile, in the same skillet, fry the eggs until desired doneness.

  9. Remove the sandwiches from the oven and top each with a fried egg.

  10. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  11. Serve hot and enjoy!
