How To Make Chili Cheese Sloppy Joes

This chili cheese sloppy joes is not that spicy at all so your kids will love it. Made with a bowl of chili, beef broth, and tomato puree topped in a bun.

Ingredients

  • 1½lbsground beef
  • 1tspkosher salt
  • ÂĽtspcoarse ground black pepper
  • 1white onion,chopped and divided
  • 1green bell pepper,diced
  • 1garlic clove,minced
  • 2tbspchili powder
  • 1tspcumin
  • ÂĽcupbrown sugar
  • 2cupstomato puree
  • ÂĽcupketchup
  • 1cupbeef broth
  • 1cupsour cream
  • 1cupcheddar cheese,shredded

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet on medium-high heat, add the beef, salt, pepper, Âľ of the onions, and green bell pepper. Cook well and break it apart but leaving some chunks for about 5 to 6 minutes.

  2. Reduce the heat to medium and add in the garlic, chili powder, cumin, brown sugar, tomato puree, ketchup, and beef broth. Cook until the sauce starts to evaporate and the mixture becomes sloppy for about 5 to 6 minutes.

  3. Spoon the mixture onto the brioche buns and top with sour cream, remaining white onion, and shredded cheddar cheese.
