How To Make Smoked Turkey

Ingredients
- 12-pound whole turkey
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 2 tablespoons black pepper
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 2 tablespoons dried thyme
- 2 tablespoons dried rosemary
- 2 tablespoons dried sage
- 1 cup chicken broth
Instructions

Preheat the smoker to 225°F (110°C).

Rinse the turkey and pat it dry with paper towels.

Rub the olive oil all over the turkey, including the cavity.

In a small bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, dried thyme, dried rosemary, and dried sage.

Sprinkle the spice mixture all over the turkey, making sure to coat it evenly.

Place the turkey on the smoker rack and insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the thigh.

Pour the chicken broth into the water pan of the smoker.

Close the smoker and smoke the turkey for about 30 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Remove the turkey from the smoker and let it rest for 20 minutes before carving.
