How To Make Southern BBQ Chicken Recipe

Ingredients
- 4 chicken quarters
- 1 cup of BBQ sauce
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).

Rub the spice mixture all over the chicken quarters, making sure to coat them evenly.

Place the chicken quarters on the grill and cook for about 20 minutes, turning them halfway through.

While the chicken is grilling, heat the BBQ sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat until warmed through.

Brush the BBQ sauce onto the chicken quarters, making sure to cover them completely.

Continue grilling the chicken for another 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the chicken is cooked through.

Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Serve the Southern BBQ Chicken hot with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
