This autumnal dish is sure to bring together the flavors of fall. The sweet tartness of fresh apple cider, met with the spicy savoriness of the barbecue sauce is sure to create a memorable meal. Enjoy with seasonal sides, such as apple chutney, or rich buttery turnips.

How To Make Cracker Barrel Copycat Apple Cider BBQ Chicken

  • 36 oz chicken breasts (roughly)
  • 1/3 cup apple cider
  • 2/3 cup barbecue sauce of your choice
  • 2 tbsp lemon or lime juice
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp dried rosemary
  • 2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • salt & ground black pepper (to season)
  • cooking spray

To Serve

  • Roasted carrots & sauteed corn kernels
  1. Mix together apple cider, apple cider vinegar, lemon or lime juice, rosemary, thyme, garlic powder, barbeque sauce, & basil
  2. Season with salt & pepper. Adjust accordingly
  3. Add the chicken breasts, mix with the marinade. Allow to marinate overnight, sealed.
  4. Preheat either an outdoor grill or an indoor grill. Ensure the chicken is at room temperature.
  5. Grill first for about 3 -5 minutes each side, until juices run clear & no pinkness present.
  6. Serve the chicken together with roasted carrots & sauteed corn kernels
