How To Make Bulgogi (Korean BBQ)

This recipe for Korean BBQ, or bulgogi, takes tender beef strips and marinates them in a mix of Asian flavors for a fresh take on barbecue.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1cupsoy sauce
  • ½cuppear juice,or white wine
  • 3tbspwhite sugar
  • 2tbspgarlic,chopped
  • 1tspsesame oil
  • 1tspsesame seeds
  • 1tbspground black pepper
  • 1tspmonosodium glutamate
  • 2lbsbeef rump roast,sliced into thin strips
  • 1onion,cut into thin strips

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together soy sauce, pear juice, sugar, garlic, sesame oil, sesame seeds, black pepper, and monosodium glutamate. Place beef and onions into the mixture, and stir to coat. Cover, and refrigerate for 1 hour.

  2. Preheat grill pan over high heat. Brush oil over grill pan, and add beef and onions. Cook, turning to brown evenly, for 3 to 6 minutes, or until done.
