How To Make BBQ Chuck Roast Recipe

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs chuck roast
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp BBQ rub
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the BBQ to medium-high heat.

  2. Rub the chuck roast with olive oil, BBQ rub, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Place the roast on the BBQ and sear on all sides.

  4. Remove the roast from the BBQ and set it aside.

  5. In a Dutch oven or aluminum pan, add the sliced onion and minced garlic.

  6. Place the seared roast on top of the onions and garlic.

  7. Pour the beef broth around the roast.

  8. Cover the Dutch oven or pan with foil.

  9. Place the Dutch oven or pan on the BBQ and close the lid.

  10. Cook the roast for 3-4 hours, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F.

  11. Remove the roast from the BBQ and let it rest for 15 minutes.

  12. Slice the roast against the grain and serve with BBQ sauce.
