Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Garlic and cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt.

  2. Make a well in the center and add warm water and yogurt. Mix well to form a sticky dough.

  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rest for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

  5. Preheat a skillet or tawa on medium-high heat.

  6. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and roll each part into a round shape.

  7. Place the rolled dough onto the heated skillet and cook until bubbles start to appear on the surface. Flip and cook the other side for a minute.

  8. Brush melted butter on top of each Naan bread and garnish with garlic and cilantro if desired.

  9. Serve warm and enjoy with your favorite curries or dips.
