  • 1.5 lbs chicken breast, diced
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 3 bell peppers, sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • Cooked rice, for serving


  1. In a slow cooker, add the chicken, onions, bell peppers, garlic, ginger, cumin, coriander, turmeric, chili powder, tomato puree, yogurt, and salt. Stir to combine.

  2. Cook on low heat for 4 hours or on high heat for 2 hours until the chicken is cooked through and tender.

  3. Serve the Slow Cooker Chicken Jalfrezi over cooked rice and garnish with fresh cilantro.
