Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 inches ginger, grated
  • 2 green chilies, sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 teaspoons turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons cumin powder
  • 2 teaspoons coriander powder
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup water
  • Fresh coriander leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pan and fry onions, garlic, ginger, and green chilies until golden brown.

  2. Add tomato puree and cook for a few minutes.

  3. Mix in turmeric, cumin, coriander, chili powder, garam masala, black pepper, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.

  4. Add chicken pieces and cook until browned.

  5. Pour in water, cover the pan, and simmer for 30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.

  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh coriander leaves.
