How To Make Lamb Jalfrezi with Cumin Rice

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs lamb, cut into cubes
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.

  2. Add onions, garlic, ginger, and green chilies. Sauté until onions turn golden brown.

  3. Add the lamb cubes and cook until browned on all sides.

  4. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, paprika, and salt. Mix well.

  5. Add tomatoes and cook until they turn soft and mushy.

  6. Add red bell pepper and cook for another 5 minutes.

  7. Add garam masala and mix everything together.

  8. Cook for another 10 minutes or until the lamb is tender and cooked through.

  9. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
