Homemade Berry Galette Recipe

How To Make Homemade Berry Galette

Delight in this sweet and satisfyingly fresh Homemade Berry Galette that is filled with lots of different berries, all packed in a delicious buttery crust.

Preparation: 20 minutes
Cooking: 40 minutes
Chill and Set Time: 45 minutes
Total: 1 hour 45 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

For Crust:

  • cupsall-purpose flour
  • 10tbspbutter
  • ¼cupcold water

For Filling:

  • 1cupstrawberries
  • 1cupblueberries
  • 1cupblackberries
  • ½cupsugar
  • 2tbspcornstarch

For Eggwash:

  • 1egg
  • 1tbspwater
  • 2tbspturbinado sugar

Instructions

Dough:

  1. In a food processor, combine the flour and butter until incorporated.

  2. Add in the cold water, and continue to blend until it forms a dough.

  3. Remove from the food processor, roll into a ball, and flatten.

  4. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 10 to 15 minutes.

Filling:

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries with sugar and cornstarch, and mix until coated.

  2. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Roll out the dough into ¼-inch thickness.

  3. Place the filling into the center of the dough. Fold up the edges to seal in the filling.

  4. In a small bowl combine the egg and water.

  5. Brush the egg wash on the edges and sprinkle with turbinado sugar.

  6. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.

  7. Remove from oven and let set for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
