Ingredients

  • 2 leeks, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pre-made pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced leeks and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, and black pepper.

  4. Roll out the pie crust and press it into a 9-inch pie dish.

  5. Spread the sautéed leeks evenly on the bottom of the pie crust. Sprinkle the grated Gruyere cheese on top.

  6. Pour the egg mixture over the leeks and cheese.

  7. Place the pie dish on a baking sheet and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.

  8. Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
