How To Make Homemade Banana Pudding Pie

Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 2 ripe bananas, sliced
- 2 cups milk
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Whipped cream and additional banana slices for garnish
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a small bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a pie dish to form the crust.

Place the banana slices in an even layer over the crust.

In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, whisk together the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt.

Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and comes to a boil.

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Gradually whisk in about 1 cup of the hot milk mixture to temper the eggs, then pour the egg mixture back into the saucepan.

Continue cooking the mixture, stirring constantly, until it thickens to a pudding consistency.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

Pour the pudding over the banana slices in the pie dish.
