How To Make Fresh Baked Cherry Pie

There's nothing like the aroma and sight of a freshly baked cherry pie in the kitchen! This incredible recipe for scrumptious cherry pie has taken out the pain of creating a pie crust from scratch, so you're left with tending with the heart of the dish – the cherry pie filling!

  • 1 pie crust, 9-inch double crust pie
  • 4 tbsp quick-cooking tapioca
  • tsp salt
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 4 cups cherries, pitted
  • ¼ tsp almond extract
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ tbsp butter


  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

  2. Place bottom crust in piepan.
  3. Set top crust aside, covered.
  4. In a large mixing bowl combine tapioca, salt, sugar, cherries and extracts.
  5. Let stand 15 minutes.
  6. Turn out into bottom crust and dot with butter.
  7. Cover with top crust, flute edges and cut vents in top.
  8. Place pie on a foil lined cookie sheet – in case of drips.

  9. Bake for 50 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown.
