How To Make Cat-Friendly Shrimp Potato Cups

Crispy baked shrimp stuffed in veggie mashed potatoes with Mexican cheese, these potato cups are a delicious treat for you and your cat, too!




  • 3cupsmashed potato
  • 1cuppea,cooked
  • 1cupcorn,cooked and chopped
  • 1cupcarrot,cooked and chopped
  • 1cupham,thick chopped
  • ½cupparmesan cheese
  • ½lbshrimp
  • 2cupswhole wheat breadcrumbs
  • 3eggs,beaten
  • 2tbspolive oil
  • non-stick spray
  • ½cupmexican cheese blend,shredded or shredded cheddar cheese

For Garnish:

  • sour cream,for you
  • fresh cilantro,for you
  • catnip,for your cat


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. In a bowl, mix the mashed potato, peas, corn, carrots, ham and half of the parmesan cheese. Mix well.

  3. Mix the breadcrumbs and remaining parmesan cheese together. Dip each shrimp in egg, then breadcrumbs. Place in a baking tray. Drizzle olive oil on top. Bake for about 10 minutes or until the breadcrumbs turn golden and the prawns are cooked through.

  4. Grease a regular-size muffin mold, and a mini one. Add some of the potato mix until the molds are full. Using your fingers, mold a hole in the middle of the cups.

  5. Place a whole shrimp in the hole of the regular-size cups. Add half a shrimp to the mini cups. Add Mexican blend cheese (or cheddar) to your cups, and lightly sprinkle the mini cups.

  6. Bake for about 10 minutes or until the cheese on top turns golden.

  7. Add sour cream and cilantro to your cups. Sprinkle catnip on your cat’s mini cups. Enjoy!
