How To Make Buttermilk Pie

This buttermilk pie is a smooth and milky custard filling with a golden brown caramel top baked in a perfectly flaky pie crust.

Preparation: 7 minutes
Cooking: 45 minutes
Total: 52 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 3eggs,room temperature
  • ½cupbutter,softened
  • cupswhite sugar
  • 3tbspall-purpose flour
  • 1cupbuttermilk
  • 2tspvanilla extract
  • 1tbsplemon juice
  • ¼tspfreshly grated nutmeg
  • 9inchunbaked pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. LIne a 9-inch pie plate with a single pie crust.

  3. Beat eggs until foamy. Beat in butter, flour and sugar until fluffy.

  4. Add remaining ingredients and mix until smooth.

  5. Pour into prepared crust and bake for 45 to 55 minutes until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. Cool completely.
