Preparation: 20 minutes
Cooking: 10 minutes
Total: 30 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 200g digestive biscuits
  • 100g butter, melted
  • 400g can of condensed milk
  • 2 large bananas, sliced
  • 300ml double cream
  • 1 tbsp icing sugar
  • Chocolate shavings, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Crush the digestive biscuits into fine crumbs and mix with the melted butter. Press the mixture into a 9-inch pie dish to form the crust.

  2. Place the can of condensed milk in a saucepan filled with water. Bring to a gentle simmer and let it cook for 3 hours, making sure the can is always fully submerged in water. This will turn the condensed milk into caramel. Allow the can to cool before opening.

  3. Spread the caramel evenly over the biscuit crust.

  4. Place the sliced bananas on top of the caramel.

  5. In a separate bowl, whip the double cream with the icing sugar until soft peaks form.

  6. Spoon the whipped cream over the bananas, spreading it out evenly.

  7. If desired, garnish with chocolate shavings.

  8. Chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours before serving.
