How To Make Toffee Bar Cake

Top off your meals with this easy to make toffee cake recipe. A moist cake base served with sweet toffee and crunchy walnuts on top.

  • 2cupsbrown sugar
  • 2cupsall purpose flour
  • ½cupbutter,softened
  • 1egg,beaten
  • 1tspbaking soda
  • 1cupmilk
  • 1tspvanilla extract
  • 1tspsalt
  • 1cupwalnuts,chopped
  • 6oztoffee baking bits,(2 packages)


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9×13-inch pan.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the brown sugar, flour, and butter; mix on low speed with an electric mixer until crumbly. Remove 1 cup of crumb mixture and set aside to be used for topping.

  3. To the remainder, add the egg, baking soda, milk, vanilla, and salt. The batter will be thin.

  4. Pour into prepared pan. Sprinkle the top with chopped walnuts, toffee bits, and reserved crumb mixture.

  5. Bake in the oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool.

  6. Serve and enjoy.
