- 1/4 cup of unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp of baking powder
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1 tsp of vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup of packed brown sugar
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a round 9-inch cake pan.
-
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar until dissolved. Pour the mixture into the prepared cake pan, spreading it evenly.
-
Arrange the peach slices on top of the sugar mixture in the pan.
-
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, granulated sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until well combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just incorporated.
-
Pour the batter over the peaches in the cake pan, spreading it evenly.
-
Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
-
Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Place a serving plate on top of the pan, then carefully invert the cake onto the plate. Allow it to cool completely before serving.
