Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 cup grated apple
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a bundt cake pan.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.

  5. Mix in the honey and applesauce until well combined.

  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  7. Fold in the grated apple and chopped walnuts (if using).

  8. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top.

  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  10. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

  11. Serve the apple honey bundt cake as is, or dust with powdered sugar before serving.
