How To Make Easy Weeknight Chicken Parmesan Recipe

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. In a shallow dish, combine the bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Dip each chicken breast into the beaten eggs, then coat them in the bread crumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.

  4. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the coated chicken breasts and cook for about 4 minutes on each side until golden brown.

  5. Pour marinara sauce over the chicken breasts and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.

  6. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  7. Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving.

  8. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
