  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup bourbon
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Steamed rice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, bourbon, garlic, ginger, water, and red pepper flakes (if using).

  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken pieces and cook until browned and cooked through.

  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked chicken in the skillet. Stir well to coat the chicken.

  4. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.

  5. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions.

  6. Serve over steamed rice.
