How To Make Easy Beef Shawarma

This beef shawarma has a full, smoky taste and a bit of sweetness from the creamy tahini sauce. A drizzle of sauce provides a tangy taste.

For Shawarma:

  • 1tbspolive oil
  • 1lbbeef top sirloin,thinly sliced
  • 1tbspshawarma seasoning
  • 1tspground allspice
  • ½tspsalt

For Tahini Sauce:

  • ½cuptahini
  • 3tbspplain yogurt
  • ½lemon,juiced
  • ½tspsalt
  • 10ozlarge flour tortillas,1 package
  • 2tomatoes,halved and sliced
  • 1onion,thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add beef, shawarma seasoning, allspice, and ½ teaspoon of salt; cook, turning occasionally until beef is browned and tender, 3 to 5 minutes.

  2. Whisk tahini, yogurt, lemon juice, and ½ teaspoon of salt together in a small bowl until creamy.

  3. Spread 1 to 2 tablespoons tahini sauce in the center of each tortilla. Divide beef slices, tomato slices, and onion slices evenly among tortillas. Roll up tortillas.

  4. Preheat a panini press according to manufacturer’s instructions. Press rolled tortillas seam side-down until grill marks appear, about 2 minutes. Cut each tortilla into 4 to 5 pieces.
