How To Make Smoky Braised Brisket
Hot stews and pot roasts are just some of the deletcable meals you get out of a slow cooker. It takes a bit of patience but it’s worth every meat-melting bite. You’ll enjoy the cooking as well as the eating with these slow cooker recipes.

Ingredients
- 2 lbs brisket
- 2 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).

In a small bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.

Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket, making sure to cover all sides.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large Dutch oven or oven-safe pot over medium-high heat. Add the brisket and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side, until browned.

Remove the brisket from the pot and set aside.

Add the beef broth to the pot and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom.

Return the brisket to the pot, along with any juices that may have accumulated.

Cover the pot with a lid and transfer to the preheated oven. Braise the brisket for 3-4 hours, until tender and easily shredded with a fork.

Once cooked, remove the brisket from the pot and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

Serve the smoky braised brisket with the cooking juices poured over the top.
