How To Make Slow Cooker Lengua (Beef Tongue)
Hot stews and pot roasts are just some of the deletcable meals you get out of a slow cooker. It takes a bit of patience but it’s worth every meat-melting bite. You’ll enjoy the cooking as well as the eating with these slow cooker recipes.

Ingredients
- 1 beef tongue, about 2 pounds
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 carrots, peeled and chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon of dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- ½ teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 cup of beef broth
- 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons of cornstarch (optional)
Instructions

Rinse the beef tongue under cold water and pat dry. Place it in the slow cooker.

Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, carrots, celery, bay leaf, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper to the slow cooker.

Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.

Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the beef tongue is tender.

Once cooked, remove the beef tongue from the slow cooker and let it cool slightly.

Peel off the skin and slice the tongue into thin pieces.

In a small saucepan, whisk the cornstarch with ¼ cup of water until smooth. Pour this mixture into the slow cooker and stir well.

Return the sliced tongue to the slow cooker and cook on high for an additional 15 minutes, until the sauce thickens.

Serve the Slow Cooker Lengua hot with the sauce.
