How To Make Slow Cooker Turkey Taco Chili

- 1tbspolive oil
- 2lbground turkey,lean
- 1red onion,medium, or yellow onion, peeled and diced
- 4garlic cloves,minced
- 15oztomato sauce
- 14oztomatoes,diced
- 15ozblack beans,rinsed and drained
- 15ozdark red kidney beans,rinsed and drained
- 15ozlight red kidney beans,rinsed and drained
- 15ozwhole kernel corn,drained
- 4ozOld El Paso™ Chopped Green Chiles
- 1cupbeer,or chicken broth
- ¼cupOld El Paso™ Taco Seasoning
- 1tbspchili powder
- 1tspground cumin
- 1tspsalt
- 1tspsugar
- ½tspblack pepper
- cheddar cheese,shredded, crushed tortilla chips or strips, thinly-sliced green onions, sour cream, salsa, etc., optional toppings
Instructions

Heat the oil in a large sauté pan over medium-high heat.

Add the ground turkey, then sauté for 6 to 8 minutes until completely browned, using a spoon to stir and break up the meet as it cooks.

Drain the cooked turkey of any excess liquid, then transfer the turkey to the pot of a slow cooker.

Add the onion, garlic, tomato, tomato sauce, beans, corn, chiles, beer, taco seasoning, chili powder, cumin, salt, sugar, and black pepper and stir to combine.

Cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours, or on High for 3 to 4 hours, until the soup is cooked through.
