How To Make Slow Cooker Sloppy Joes

Make flavorful slow cooker sloppy joes and unleash the flavors of the beef and incorporate flavors from onions, sugar, and spices.

Ingredients

  • 2tspvegetable Oil
  • 1½lbsground beef
  • ½cuponion,finely diced
  • 8oztomato sauce,2 cans
  • ½cupketchup
  • 2tbspbrown sugar
  • 2tspWorcestershire sauce
  • ½tspgarlic powder
  • 6hamburger buns
  • salt and pepper,to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a large pan over medium high heat.

  2. Place the ground beef in the pan and season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes, breaking up the meat with a spatula.

  3. Add the onion and cook for an additional 4 to 5 minutes.

  4. Place the beef and onion mixture in the slow cooker along with the tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, ½ teaspoon salt and ¼ teaspoon pepper.

  5. Stir to combine the ingredients.

  6. Cook on High for 3 hours or Low for 6 hours.

  7. Spoon the meat onto the hamburger buns then serve.
