For this salsa verde chicken dish, we are using a slow cooker to enhance the tenderness of the poultry and the distinct spiciness brought by jalapenos.

  • 5chicken thighs
  • 1tbspchicken base
  • ½tspkosher salt
  • ¼tspblack pepper
  • 1tspcumin
  • 1jalapenosliced thinly
  • 14ozsalsa verde
  • 1limejuiced


  1. Rub the chicken base, salt, pepper, and cumin over the chicken thighs and add them to the slow cooker.

  2. Divide 1 cup of salsa verde and the jalapeno slices over the pieces of chicken and cook on Low for 7 hours.

  3. Add in the remaining salsa and lime juice and cook for 1 last hour before serving.
