How To Make Slow Cooker Orange Chicken

Breaded pieces of chicken breasts are slow-cooked in a garlicky orange-infused soy sauce to create this orange chicken recipe.

  • lbchicken breasts,boneless, skinless, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • ¼cupcornstarch
  • salt and pepper,to taste
  • ¼cupvegetable oil
  • ¾cuporange marmalade
  • ¼cupsoy sauce,low-sodium
  • 1tbsprice vinegar
  • 1tspsesame oil
  • ½tspgarlic,minced
  • cooking spray
  • 1tbspsesame seeds
  • 2tbspgreen onions,sliced


  1. Place the chicken pieces in a bowl. Add the cornstarch and salt and pepper. Toss to coat the chicken in the cornstarch mixture.

  2. Heat the oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer and cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side until browned. Work in batches if needed.

  3. Coat a slow cooker with cooking spray and add the chicken to the slow cooker.

  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the orange marmalade, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and garlic.

  5. Pour the sauce over the chicken and gently stir to coat.

  6. Cook on Low for 2 to 3 hours.

  7. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions, then serve.
