How To Make Slow Cooked Soy Glazed Chicken

The soy sauce and lemon-lime soda added a tastier and tangy flavor to the chicken. You can also opt not to use red pepper flakes if you do not like spicy food.

  • 6 chicken breasts, boneless
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • cup apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup lemon-lime soda
  • 3 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp ground pepper, fresh
  • 2 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • Red pepper flakes, optional


  1. Spray slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.

  2. Place chicken inside the slow cooker.

  3. Mix together brown sugar, vinegar, soda, garlic, soy sauce, and pepper together.

  4. Pour over chicken.

  5. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 4 hours.

  6. Take chicken pieces out of the slow cooker and pour remaining sauce into a saucepan.

  7. Place saucepan over high heat.

  8. Mix together corn starch and water, pour into a saucepan, and mix well.

  9. Let sauce come to a boil and boil for 2 to 3 minutes, or until it starts to thicken and turns into a glaze.

  10. Remove from heat and let sit for a minute or two.

  11. Sprinkle red pepper flakes on top if desired.
