How To Make Rotisserie-Style Slow Cooker Chicken

This slow cooker chicken is seasoned rotisserie-style, with its mix of herbs and spices! You won’t have to do much to prepare this set-and-forget dish.

  • 6lbschicken,(1 whole)
  • tsppaprika
  • tspgarlic powder
  • 1tsponion powder
  • 1tspdried thyme
  • 1tspdried rosemary
  • ½tspcelery seed
  • ¼tspturmeric,optional
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper


  1. Remove the giblets from the center of the chicken.

  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, celery seed, turmeric and salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Transfer chicken to a 6 or 7-quart slow cooker, sprinkle all over with spice mixture including the inside cavity.

  4. Cover and cook on High heat for 4 to 5 hours or Low heat for about 8 hours, until the center of the thigh registers 165 degrees F on an instant-read thermometer.

  5. Transfer to a cutting board and let rest 5 minutes.

  6. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
