For a filling dish, try the sweet and earthy sweet potato casserole with a zesty aftertaste from the oranges and added texture from pecans.

  • 3lbssweet potatoespeeled and cut into 2 inch chunks
  • ½cupbuttermelted
  • ½cupbrown sugardivided
  • ¼cuporange juice
  • ½tspkosher salt
  • 1tspvanilla
  • ½cuppecanschopped


  1. Toss the sweet potatoes with the butter, 1/2 of the brown sugar, Kosher salt, orange juice, and vanilla extract in the slow cooker.

  2. Cook on High for 4 hours.

  3. Use an immersion blender or mash to smooth the potatoes out.

  4. Top with the rest of the brown sugar and pecans and serve.
