How To Make Ground Beef Casserole with Rice

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup white rice
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and bell pepper to the skillet. Cook for another 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.

Stir in the diced tomatoes, beef broth, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, cook the white rice according to package instructions.

In a greased casserole dish, layer half of the cooked rice, followed by half of the ground beef mixture. Repeat the layers.

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole.

Cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
