Hearty and savory, this easy sausage and rice casserole makes the perfect lazy night dish with the combination of pork sausage, bell pepper, and soup mix.

  • 1lbfresh ground pork sausage
  • 1onion,finely chopped
  • 1cupcelery,chopped
  • 1green bell pepper,chopped
  • ½cuplong grain rice,uncooked
  • cupshot water
  • 1ENVchicken noodle mix dry,(1 envelope)
  • 2tbspalmonds,sliced


  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

  2. In a Dutch oven over medium heat, brown the sausage with the onion, celery, and bell pepper; drain. Pour in the rice, hot water, and soup mix.

  3. Stir until any lumps of soup have melted. Top with almonds.

  4. Cover and bake in the oven for 1½ hours.

  5. Serve and enjoy.
