How To Make Cheesy Cheddar Beef Casserole

Meaty ground beef cooked in a herbed-spiced tomato sauce and spinach before topped with 2 kinds of cheese for a cheesy texture and bite.

  • 1 lb ground beef (fresh )
  • 16 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp parsley flakes
  • ¼ cup red onion (chopped )
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp basil
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 20 oz spinach (cooked and drained, frozen chopped )
  • 1 pint low-fat cottage cheese
  • 16 oz mild cheddar cheese (shredded )
  1. Prepare and cook beef in a skillet and pour fat off after thoroughly cooked.

  2. Combine and stir in the tomato sauce, onion, parsley, oregano, basil, ½ tsp salt, and pepper.

  3. Simmer the pan uncovered for about 10 minutes, while occasionally stirring.
  4. Couple the cooked spinach with the low-fat cottage cheese and remaining 1/4 tsp. salt.
  5. After you have thoroughly stirred the spinach mixture together spread it around the edges of your (9×13 inch) baking casserole dish.

  6. Pour beef mixture into the center your baking dish and add your cheddar cheese on top of the beef.
  7. Load your casserole dish into the over and bake at 375 degrees F for 20 minutes.
