How To Make How To Make Bubble and Squeak

This traditional English breakfast dish will surely fuel you on days when you have a heavy workload. Fill yourself with carbs by preparing this casserole dish.

Ingredients

  • 6cupscabbage thinly sliced
  • 4slicesbacon diced
  • 1oniondiced
  • 1cupcubed cooked ham
  • 3cupscooked potatoes see note
  • 1cupleftover vegetables optional
  • 1tsppaprika
  • Salt & pepper

Instructions

  1. Place cabbage and ¼ cup water in a saucepan. Cover and simmer until cabbage is tender, about 10-15 minutes.

  2. Cook bacon in a frying pan. Once crisp, remove from pan and add onions to the drippings. Cook until tender.

  3. Stir in potatoes and vegetables; give them a bit of a mash. Add cooked cabbage and ham. Season with salt & pepper.

  4. Cook until browned adding a bit of butter if needed.
