  • 500g ground beef
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish


  1. Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

  2. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan and sauté for another minute.

  3. Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.

  4. Add the diced potatoes, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well to combine.

  5. Cover the pan and let the mixture cook for about 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.

  6. Stir in the garam masala and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan bread.
