How To Make Sweet Potato Turkey Hash

Boiled sweet potatoes mixed with herbs, bell peppers, and turkey completes this unique turkey hash dish! Whip this up in just 20 minutes.

  • 4sweet potatoes,peeled, diced
  • 3tbspvegetable oil
  • 1large spanish onion,chopped
  • 2large green bell peppers,diced
  • ½tspground cumin,or to taste
  • salt and pepper,to taste
  • 2cupsturkey,cooked, chopped


  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the sweet potatoes and cook for about 5 minutes or until tender. Drain, and set aside.

  2. While the sweet potatoes are boiling, heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté the onion and green pepper until tender. Season with cumin, salt, and pepper.

  3. In a large bowl, toss together the sweet potatoes, onion mixture, and turkey.

  4. Heat the remaining oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the sweet potato mixture in the skillet, flatten with a large spoon or spatula, and cook until the bottom is crisp.

  5. Carefully turn and cook the other side until crisp.

  6. Serve warm, and enjoy!
