Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup of rice
  • 2 cups of chicken broth
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.

  3. In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  4. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and cook until softened.

  5. Add the flour to the skillet and stir until well combined with the butter and onion mixture.

  6. Gradually whisk in the milk and chicken broth, cooking until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil.

  7. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  8. Place the chicken breasts in a baking dish and pour the gravy over them. Cover with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through.

  9. Meanwhile, cook the rice according to package instructions.

  10. Serve the chicken and gravy over the cooked rice.
