How To Make Mushroom Chicken Piccata

Classic chicken piccata is leveled up with a tasty addition of mushrooms! It’s cooked with a savory and tangy sauce for a richer and delectable meal.

  • ½cupall purpose flour
  • 1tspsalt
  • ½tsppaprika
  • 1egg
  • 2tbspmilk
  • 6chicken breast,halves, skinless boneless
  • 4tbspbutter
  • ½lbfresh mushrooms,sliced
  • ¼cuponion,chopped
  • 1cupchicken broth
  • ½cupwhite wine
  • 2tbsplemon juice
  • 1tbspcornstarch
  • 1tbspfresh parsley,chopped for garnish


  1. In a shallow dish or bowl, mix together the flour, salt and paprika. In a separate dish or bowl, mix together the egg and milk.

  2. Dip the chicken pieces in egg mixture, then in the seasoned flour.

  3. In a large skillet, heat butter or margarine over medium-high heat. Sauté chicken pieces until golden brown. Add the mushrooms and onion and sauté for 3 to 5 minutes.

  4. In a medium bowl combine the broth, wine, lemon juice, and cornstarch. Mix together and pour mixture over chicken and mushrooms. Reduce the heat to medium-low.

  5. Let the chicken mixture simmer for 25 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and juices run clear.

  6. Sprinkle with parsley and serve. Enjoy!
