Beegee’s Gold Star Chili Recipe

This is a favorite recipe shared with my family and friends. Kids will love this unique meaty taste. It’s also easy to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ lbs. ground chuck meat
  • 16 oz. tomato sauce, cans
  • 3 onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp. cayenne red pepper
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp. all spice
  • 1 tbsp. white vinegar
  • 1 tsp. garlic salt
  • 7 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 qt. water
  • mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • salt , to taste
  • pepper , to taste
  • vegetable oil, enough for sauté

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, or kettle, sauté onion until transparent, add water and meat.
  2. Break meat into bits.
  3. Add all other ingredients.
  4. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer covered 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
  5. Sprinkle with cheese before serving.
  6. This versatile chili can be eaten alone or served with your favorite hot dog.
  7. Freezes well.
