  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Sour cream and salsa, for serving


  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cheese, onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. Lay out the flour tortillas and divide the chicken mixture evenly among them, placing it in a straight line down the center of each tortilla.

  3. Roll up the tortillas tightly, making sure the filling is secure inside.

  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  5. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the rolled tortillas seam-side down in the skillet.

  6. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

  7. Remove from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess oil.

  8. Serve the crispy flautas with sour cream and salsa on the side.
