How To Make Paleo Toasted Maple Pecans

Munch on some sweet nuts with these toasted maple pecans! This 15-minute snack is a low-carb treat you can have anytime, with less guilt.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • ¾cuppecan halves
  • 1tspbutter
  • 3tbsppure maple syrup,or more to taste
  • 2pinchessalt

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the pecans and lower the heat to medium-low.

  2. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly until the pecans are lightly crisp and turn a darker brown. Remove the skillet from the stove and slightly cool pecans.

  3. Mix the butter into the warm pecans and toss to coat. Turn the heat to medium, then add the maple syrup and stir the pecans with a heat-proof or wooden spoon for 1 to 2 minutes until the syrup begins to bubble.

  4. Turn the heat down to low and continue stirring the pecans for about 5 minutes more until the syrup begins to caramelize onto the pecans.

  5. Remove skillet from heat, sprinkle salt over pecans, and stir. Enjoy!
